Thando Dlomo is a recent graduate of the University of Southern California, where she received her Master of Science in Journalism. She is a Multimedia Journalist and Producer, born in Johannesburg, South Africa to her domestic worker grandmother.
Thando excelled as a part of the first graduating class of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy before coming to the United States for her undergraduate degree in 2012. She received her undergraduate degree from Johnson C. Smith University.
She has kept entertainment and culture at the center of her reporting, touching on topics such as representation in television and the usefulness of the hashtag culture in Hollywood-receiving praise from creators such as Ava DuVernay and Ms. Winfrey for her strong interviewing skills and fresh perspective as a South African woman.
Before starting her practice in television, Thando served as an HR professional for the Discovery Channel.
Her most recent clients include Viacom/BET International and the Nelson Mandela Foundation, where she served as talent and a panel moderator during BET Awards 2018. Currently, Thando works for CBS at Entertainment Tonight, supporting their efforts to branch out into vast demographics in the digital space. Her official title: Associate Content Producer
