One Woman Can Inspire Her Community

Esther is an amazing 22 year old woman.  She has been a sponsored child through Seven Wells since she was 4 years old.  Currently attending University for Travel and Tourism, she was struggling with full-time school and finding work to support herself, along with her mother and niece who are both HIV positive.  One Woman worked with our partner charity, Seven Wells to create an internship to help Esther with not only an income, but also skills to build her resume.

This is the case for thousands of young women around the world.  That even with a post-secondary school scholarship, they struggle with the responsibly of not only taking care of their own living expenses, but often their family as well.  The stress and burden can often cause girls to drop out of school to take care of their family’s needs.  Our goal is to ensure girls can gain the skills and support to gain part-time employment during their studies, or create employment opportunities that they can be successful in both their education and family responsibilities.  We know that with the power of higher education, that burden will be easier after graduation.  Her career and profession will not only change her family’s future, but generations to come to break the cycle of poverty.
